"The City in the Sea"-Edgar Allan Poe

The City in the Sea written by Edgar Allan Poe uses personification to talk about death. An example of personification is in the line, "Lo! Death has reared himself a throne..." I think what he means here is that death is waiting to take more victims. As shown in the picture below, death is sitting on his throne...waiting.
